Rama’s Bridge (also known as Adam’s Bridge or Rama Setu) is a chain of natural limestone shoals connecting Pamban Island (Rameswaram) in India to Mannar Island in Sri Lanka. According to Hindu mythology, it was built by Lord Rama’s army to reach Lanka and rescue his wife, Sita, as described in the Ramayana. The bridge is about 30 kilometers long and consists of sandbanks and shallow waters. While some believe it is man-made, others see it as a natural formation. It holds significant religious, historical, and geographical importance for both India and Sri Lanka.
