Consigliatissimo!!Posted on sunsiva1980Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We thoroughly enjoyed our 9 day tour in Sri Lanka. We have chosen explore Yarl to cover all places in Sri Lanka including negombo, Anuradhapura,Jaffna, sigiriya, Kandy, pinnawala and Colombo. All places are well organized and arranged by Mr. Arun who came as a guide.it was very perfect from beginning to end. Mr. Arun is an outstanding person who spent entire days with us during the 9 days and he arranged excellent accommodation and transport facilities in all the days. The way he presented the places he took us, and in order he presented them was very amazing. He has deep knowledge of the history of the area, which made the experience come alive. He looked at the children's very careful and we never forget that he carried children on his back when children did not manage themselves while climbing sigiriya hills . He was introduced as a guide but we felt like we hired our own brother for the trip. We all honored very well once we arrived in Sri Lanka by Mr.arun and he gave memorable gift to all on the last day before leaving the country. It was amazing feeling.we never and ever had such experience.we strongly recommend Explore Yarl and Mr.Arun to my friends and to all who are planning a trip to Sri Lanka .Posted on Enrico MeloniTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The best tours you can hope for. This would be our tagline for Yarl Tours and his mastermind Arun, the main reason behind the success of his company. We were lucky to catch him twice during our stay in Jaffna. True, there are not many competitors when it comes to guides as Jaffna is, for now, a local-only thing, therefore you can only hope for him to be available as he will make the difference in your trip. We first did a tour of the city by car which really helped us understand its intricate and fascinating history. Mind you, what Arun does is a “free walking tour” style of explanation of the places, mixing facts, contemporary vibes, art, architecture, politics, food, everyday life of the locals and everything in between. He also takes you to true local food outlets, so your experience will be complete. Get ready to eat with your hands from a banana leaf. One of the highlights was being in Jaffna on the world-famous Nallur Temple Festival, a great hindu celebration. Being there with him and getting a detailed explanation of everything that was going on (otherwise not so clear) was truly unique. We always do one of such tours when we first arrive in a city and this is one we will remember for a long time. Then we also did a tour (by car) of the northern part of the Jaffna peninsula, visiting places not many tourists get to see (and yes, we did sacrifice Mannar and Delft to do this, and we believe it was worth it). I am referring to the St. Anthony church buried under the sand and the cemetery (the Manalkadu desert area), the KKS beach, Vallipuram temple and the hot springs at Keerimalai, plus more. Look no further, contact Arun for a tour if you’re planning to go to Jaffna - and do it asap! He got featured on Lonely Planet and he’s as busy as he deserves. Best if you look for his phone number on Tripadvisor (like we did) and get in touch directly. Forgot to mention he speaks great English (not a given at all in Sri Lanka, even among guides), and replies very quickly.Posted on Nambirajan GanesanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mr.Arun is a good, enthusiastic human being and a professional guide. He is very kind with kids and elders. I went with my family and my friends family for 7N & 8D (Negombo - Anuradhapura - Jaffna - SIGIRIYA- Kandy- Pinnawala - Colombo). Everybody and everyday we enjoyed and thrilled. We never ever forget SIGIRIYA and PIDURANGALA ROCK climbing with kids. He himself alone taken care 4kids and helped us to climb and we achieved. He becomes part of our family for us brother and for our kids Mama💖 (Uncle). Some memories below.Posted on Anne-Laure HTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. (Arun fait aussi de super photos qu’il partage !)Posted on Utsav SaxenaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I wish I had come across Arun earlier. Me and my kids did the cooking class with him earlier. We made good fiery Jaffna crab curry along with fried shrimp, fresh coconut sambol and daal. He knew we were Indians and had children with us, so good amount of spices were used and kids were thrilled to have so many mini poppadums. Really felt like we visited family.Posted on Helen Brown-MayTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great day on the full day temple tours. Dilushan was attentive, able to explain something about the hindu temples we stopped at and very obliging to stop for photo oppportunities. Highly recommendPosted on Jakub KnispelTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We are a family of 3 (mother F49, me M22 and brother M19). We firstly visited the south of Sri Lanka, which was more popular to some time and more touristically approchable, so we had a small glimpse of what to expect from coming back after 3 years. This time we went there to explore the north, specifically Trincomalee and Jaffna for a 10-day trip. After our landing, we went to visit the capital - Colombo, then we went to Trincomalee and we spent here 3 days, we went fishing, to massages, taste local food, etc. After that we went to visit Jaffna, where we spent 6 days overall, where we had much bigger sort of experiences, like pottery, cooking classes, sightseeing, visiting island, etc. and on our last day we went to the Delfth island, where we were exploring the local island and went laying on the beach. Everything sound like a regular holiday, however it wasn´t exactly like that. Our tour guide named Arun is a young tour guide, who you can rely on everything you need. He planned every detail in advance and planned an amazing holiday. You can be the pickiest person ever, but Arun is always some steps ahead and in a few moments your wish is granted. He is Jaffna-born person, so he know Jaffna across perfectly. His knowledge of religion, culture, and Jaffna itself is enormous, so his speech about country and city were always interesting and comprehensive. I believe that this factor seperates regular tour-guides from others - knowledge and also strong dedication to do everything for your customers just so they are comfortable and happy. There are many people who prefer different things. Our family is a huge mixture of everything, we enjoy sightseeing, snorcheling, we like some action, but we also sometimes like just to lay down on the beach and do nothing in particular. If you are some action guy, and dont prefer to do sightseeing too oftern, your holiday can be a little bit customized, so you will do what you actually like. If you like to explore local religion, culture, or people, Arun will také you to some interesting places where you will explore new things. Some people are probably right now considering of visiting Sri Lanka, because visiting the north of the country is not a popular choice right now. Some people might be scared, or some people dont know if its a good idea. I can 100% guarantee you, that you can try to visit Sri Lanka on your own, you can enjoy some things, taste local food, explore culture etc. But if you really want to see Sri Lanka with your both eyes and all of your senses, to actually visualise and vibe with the whole culture, there is no other way than to do it with Arun. Until then you will have this feeling that you tried everything, every essential thing you can imagine in the span of your holidays.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. EXCELLENT Based on 51 reviews Posted on Caroline SVerified Einzigartige Tage in Jaffna Arun war ein sehr aufmerksamer und toller Reiseführer. Posted on Varuni SanthakumarVerified Amazing historical and cultural tour of Jaffna Arun is a highly knowledgeable and passionate guide. As someone whose roots are in Jaffna but didn’t grow up there I was not aware of the history pre dating colonial times. The tour which was just a day taught me more about our history than I could have imagined and I left feeling closer to Jaffna - historically and culturally. Arun gave detailed explanations of each place we went to whether it be Nallur Temple or Jaffna Fort. Highly recommend this tour and will definitely be recommending this tour to friends and family venturing to Jaffna!Posted on MalarHarishVerified Travel Jaffna Our journey through Yarl (Jaffna) became one of the most meaningful trips of our lives because of our extraordinary tour guide. From the very beginning, he welcomed us with such warmth, sincerity and positive energy that it felt like we were meeting a long-lost family member rather than a guide. Throughout the entire trip, he wasn’t just leading us he was taking care of us, laughing with us, and sharing moments that we will cherish forever. His knowledge of Yarl’s history, culture, traditions and hidden gems is truly impressive. Every location came alive through his stories from ancient temples and historical landmarks to beautiful coastal areas and local neighbourhoods. He shared everything with such passion that it was easy to feel the deep love he has for his homeland. What made this experience so special was his attentiveness and genuine kindness. He always checked on all seven of us me and my six sisters making sure we were comfortable, safe, hydrated and enjoying every moment. He had a way of making us feel protected, relaxed and connected, almost like a brother watching over his sisters during the trip. His people skills are amazing. He is friendly, patient, respectful and full of character. Everywhere we went, people recognised him and greeted him warmly, showing how well-loved he is in the community. Because of him, we experienced Yarl not as tourists, but as welcomed guests.By the end of the trip, we genuinely felt like we were saying goodbye to family. We miss him already ,his presence, his stories, his jokes, and the way he took care of us. It is rare to meet someone who can touch your heart so effortlessly. To anyone visiting Yarl/Jaffna, we cannot recommend him enough. If you want a tour that is rich in culture, history, comfort, safety and heartfelt connection, he is truly the best. Thank you for giving us memories we will carry for a lifetime. With love,Me and my six sisters ❤️Posted on Sangeedha SVerified Jaffna exploration Had the most fulfilling & heartwarming tour in Jaffna with Arun by our sides. He made us feel at home & we were impressed by his warmth, thoughtfulness, knowledge, effective communication & helpful behaviour.Posted on Hari7777Verified The best guide in Jaffna - not just sightseeing but understanding the soul and spirit of Jaffna and Northern Sri Lanka Arun turned to be a super lucky choice - I wanted to experience the history and context of Jaffna, and Arun was knowledgeable , passionate and highly communicative in getting that through for me . He is the best choice you can make to know Jaffna and its culture/ traditions wellPosted on Arjun B.Verified A wonderful visit to Delft Island I took the day tour to Delft and Nainativu with Jeenu as my guide, who was great! It is so nice to see the passion she has for Jaffna and the islands. She patiently answered all questions that I had! But regarding the tour, I was just stunned at the beauty of Delft Island! The birds, the trees, the sea, the stillness of time; it was just such a wonderful experience, and we were driven by a wonderful gentleman in an auto in Delft who clearly loves his island and all it has to offer. The Navy runs a small juice shop selling cactus and aloevera juice on the island - a wonderful gesture. The local folks were friendly! And don't miss the beach and the coral fort! My only suggestion to the team would be to arrange an auto/tuk-tuk as the ride to the jetty from Jaffna an hour away, and can be a bit uncomfortable on a bike. The ferry ride to Delft can be claustrophobic for some but I do appreciate the Sri Lankan Navy offering free services for citizens and tourists. Responsible tourism could truly support the local economy. Souvenir shops could sell postcards, local products and magnets. There is a cute post office but there were no postcards around, something I brought to Arun's attention. Finally, I really hope the spirit of the island remains as it is - immersed in nature; streets perfect for walking, cycling and autos only; the birds; a serene coastline and welcoming locals and Navy officers. Please do not change Delft's character and I hope it remains the way it is with improvements for its residents! I highly recommend the visit to Delft for a day.Posted on Tonka BVerified Unmatchable Anur is a fantastic guide who will do more than anything to make your tour unforgettable! A cooling ride on the moped, wonderful boat ride, good food, interesting chat and lots of beautiful places! Highly recommended of size!Posted on Diletta PVerified Authentic Tamil Cooking Experience with Warm Hospitality We had the pleasure to attend a cooking class with Arun and his mom. The whole experience was amazing from beginning to the end. They immediately adapted to our dietary restrictions without making us feel like we were missing on anything. Arun’s mom was only speaking Tamil, but he translated smoothly and they were always able to answer our many questions. This is a real local experience, from cooking the food to eating it. Arun stayed with us while we were eating to teach us the tip and tricks of eating with hands like real tamils (+ some historical insights which we really appreciated).Posted on Magaly VDWVerified Jaffna evening tour + excursion Delft Island Because we only arrived in Jaffna at 3pm, an evening tour was organized for us. There is a driver who takes us everywhere and a guide. Our first stop was the Hindu temple: Nallur Kandaswamy Devasthanam. In addition, we were explained about the temple / rituals / differences with Buddhism. Afterwards we went to King Sangiliyan's Minister's House. A place we were probably never going to have stopped without a guide. Because we were on the evening tour, the library was just closed so we continued to Jaffna fort. Our guide took the time to walk around the full fort and give information. After everything, we wanted to go somewhere to eat but we didn't immediately know where. They called around and dropped us off at a restaurant, also mentioned that we definitely didn't want to eat too spicy. Afterwards we got a message if the food was good! Super sweet! The day after, a one-night day tour was arranged on Delft Island. Everything from transports were excellently arranged! On Delft Island, we slept in a hostel: Delft Village stay. We slept in tents there! Nice! A very nice accommodation for backpackers! You will meet many new people!Jille & MagalyPosted on Linda MVerified Book it!!
