The Jaffna Library, one of the most significant cultural landmarks in Sri Lanka, is located in the heart of Jaffna city. Established in 1933, it was once one of the largest libraries in Asia, housing a vast collection of books, manuscripts, and historical documents. Unfortunately, it was tragically destroyed in 1981 during the civil conflict but was later rebuilt and reopened in 2001.
